Tomoko is a dance instructor and owner of Smyle in Style. She was born in Japan and moved to Montgomery, Alabama at the age of 6. In the US she started her gymnastics training which she continued once moving back to Japan until the age of 17.
After moving to Tokyo in her late teens studying business and Economics at University she was involves in the University dance team which was mostly Modern and Jazz training/performing where her passion and talent for different forms of dance was realized. Tomoko also took up other forms of dance including more classical genres at this time.
Once graduated from University Tomoko started a career in finance and still continued her exposure to dance. She helped setup a dance group who performed an yearly program and was a core element in the group for the event planning and choreographing. At the same time she continued training in Ballet and other genres.
Tomoko’s work moved her to Hong Kong where she grew her family and it was the undercurrent of Dance/Create/Choreograph that motivated her to begin teaching shortly after the arrival of her three young children. It’s her training in gymnastics, jazz, modern and ballet that has merged to energetically deliver creative, fun dance exercise lessons. In addition she teaches children from ages 4 to 14 Jazz, Hip Hop and Acrobatics in Causeway Bay.
Tomoko is also accredited by Zumba to teach both adult and children classes.
